NEW DELHI: PM Modi will be in Singapore from November 14 to 15 to attend a series of summits, including the East Asian summit and ASEAN meetings.
PM Modi will present awards to winners of the first ‘India-Singapore Hackathon 2018’ which aims to harness and showcase innovation potential of the youth from the two countries.
Singapore has designated the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and its innovation and enterprise arm NTUitive to conduct the Hackathon. India has designated the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
From India, an 83-member delegation comprising 60 students, 20 mentors and three officials of the AICTE is visiting Singapore for the hackathon, said the Indian High Commission in Singapore.
The 36 hour hackathon began today at 09.00 am at NTU, which will end on 13 November at 9.00 pm. 20 teams each from both countries comprising university and college students selected on nationwide basis are participating in the Hackathon.
High Commission of India in Singapore facilitated the event in collaboration with Singapore’s Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs.
First prize of SGD 10,000, second prize of SGD 6,000 and third prize of SGD 4,000 have been announced for each of the three winners from India and Singapore.
PM Modi will be the first head of the government to deliver an address at the Singapore Fintech Festival which is one of the largest events on financial technology.
PM Modi will hold a bilateral meeting with US Vice President Pence on November 14, the Ministry of External Affairs said in New Delhi.
The East Asia Summit is a premier forum in the Asia-Pacific region. Since its inception in 2005, it has played a significant role in the strategic, geopolitical and economic evolution of East Asia.
Trade between India and ASEAN stood at USD 81.33 billion in 2017-18 and constitutes 10.58 per cent of India’s total trade.
